The American Bar Association (ABA) offers the Free Legal Answers Program. It provides virtual civil legal advice to eligible users. The program is staffed by attorneys licensed in the Commonwealth.
You might also find the Virginia State Bar’s Access to Justice Guide helpful. It connects low- and moderate-income individuals with legal services throughout the Commonwealth.
Lastly, check out the Legal Services links I’ve shared on this page. I’ve highlighted several non-profit organizations working hard across the Commonwealth to give equal access to justice. Their staff and volunteers may manage to offer you legal advice and, in some cases, even courtroom representation.
If you’re short on financial resources, you might be concerned about your ability to afford an attorney. Don’t let that keep you from at least reaching out. I can (occasionally) offer sliding-scale rates or limited representation in certain Family Law (only) matters.
